Nepal is the country where eight out of the fourteen mountains in the world higher than 8000m are found. These are Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Lotste and Cho-Yu in the Everest region; Mt. Annapurna I, which was first climbed by two French people, Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal, in the Annapurna region; Mt. Dhaulagiri I, in the Dhaulagiri region, the seventh highest peak in the world; Mt. Kanchenjungha 8586m in the Eastern part of Nepal, the second highest peak ever climbed in Nepal by Gorge Band and Joe Brown in May 25, 1955, and the third in the world; Mt. Manaslu 8157m, fisrt climbed by a Japanese expedition led by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu from Nepal in May 9, 1956; Mt. Makalu 8485m, first won by another French team, Jean Couzy and Leonel Terray in May 15 ,1955. Apart from these giants, there are, in Nepal, many more mountains that are more than 6000m to 7000m high.
So, these facts show that Nepal is the best spot for those who are passionate with alpinism. Moreover, as the country, due to its geography and topography, presents climates that vary from tropical to alpine, there are plenty of opportunities to do some fabulous tekking in Nepal at any time and season.
We can make the statement that, if you are confused about your Nepal trekking time and period, any time will be convenient, as there are many places for trekking. For instance, Upper Mustang trekking can be done during the monsoon season, from May to September, even until November. Dolpo region trekking can also take place during the same period. In general, any type of trekking can be organized all year around in Nepal.
