Island Peak Climbing

Island peak (6190m) is another peak located in the Everest region. It is also very popular and demanded among the peaks of this region where it is also known as Imja Tse. Island Peak climbing is combined as well with the Everest base camp trekking, what explains why tourists and climbers like to select this trip.  As expectedy, Island Peak climbing provides awesome views of ever snow-capped mountains lying around the Khumbu region including Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7,855m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m), Mt. Cho-Yu (8187m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) , completed with Mt. Makalu (8481m) in the East, and Mt. Baruntse (7720m) in the South. The trip to this region is demanding, requires energy, is open to people physically fit  who want to have both trekking and peak climbing experience. Technically, Island Peak is considered to be easier to climb than other peaks in Nepal, and therefore climbing can be combined with trekking. The trip to the Island peak begins with a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trail continues through Namche Bazar to the Island Peak base camp. After having successfully reached the summit, the trekkers will return to Kathmandu along the same route .
