Annapurna region is considered as the second most popular trekking destination in Nepal. It is located in the mid-Northern part of the country or of the Kathmandu valley. In the 2000’s, it was ranked in the top-ten world tourism destination for its flora and fauna. As in this area, lodges are easily found, this trekking route is really a relaxed one. For the purpose of protecting the local environment and ecosystem, Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) is engaged in this region since 1986. ACAP protects some flowers like rhododendron which is the national flower of Nepal, varieties of orchids, many endangered species of birds and animals and, of course, natural beauties of nature. This conservation plan is the first ever in Nepal.
So, every traveler can explore certain endangered flora and fauna. But that is not all. There is much more to discover.
