Langtang family trek follows the deep Langtang Khola through orchids fields, rhododendron, oak tree and pine forests. This trail traverses a natural garden of flowers, like iris, thyme, edelweiss, plus a variety of luxuriant vegetation. On the wild animal side, these forests are home of the red panda, the wild bear, the grey langur, the snow leopard and its favorite preys the mountain goats. Moreover, this lively national park offers to the trekkers the chance to see the most important bird of the region, the nine color bird “danfe” (impyan), the Nepal national bird, along with pheasants, babblers and crows. Many mountains like the Langtang Lirung (7227m), the Langtang Ri (6561m), the Kimslung (6745m), Langshisa- Ri (6427m), Ganchempo (6387m), and Yala Peak (5500m) dominate the Langtang valley, also called the Yak land.
The Bhotes and the Tamangs constitute the ethnic groups of the Langtang region and, historically, their main religion is Buddhism. Interestingly, Christianity has been newly introduced in the region where Christian religions are now growing up. The Langtang inhabitants speak their own dialect. They live on agriculture and they depend as well on tourism. The trail crosses one of the famous Nepal national parks , the Langtang National Park. As its way leads through different Langtang like villages, namely Kyanjing , Sybru etc., local life style can be observed, a local lifstyle that has been implemented with cheese factories. Goshainkunda holy lake constitutes another important attraction for the entire Langtang region.
