Goshainkund Helambu Trekking – 2 weeks
The Langtang Goshainkunda Helambu trek is perfect to visit the high Himalayan holy lake of Goshainkunda (4330m) with its beautiful village in the Helambu valley, the land of Yolmo. The trail passes through the Langtang National Park which is one of the most famous and important national park in Nepal, home of the red panda. It is not so far from the Kathmandu valley to the North near the border of Tibet. The Langtang valley trek is overseen by Mt. Langtang Lirung (7229m). Trekking starts from Sabrubeshi, climbs through the farmland of local people of Tibetan origin, winds along in the the deep gorge of the Langtang Khola, through forests of rhododendrons, oaks, alders and maples. It is the higher part of this forest that is inhabited by the red panda, an endangered animal nowadays in Nepal. This trekking trail is famous for the numerous birds, animals and flowers that the trekkers are exposed to.
Further above the Langtang village, exploration of summits like Kyanjing-Ri and Tserku-Ri is possible. Also, visit to the Yala Peak Base camp and of the Langshisa valley is open, aside of the glacier of Mt. Langtang Lirung. People in these areas are Tamangs, one ethnic group, inhabitant of the hilly region of Nepal, practicing the Buddhist religion, herding yaks and naks to earn a better life.
Day 01: Pick-up at the airport in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel by our representative of Glacier Family Treks on the basis of BB plan with double bed sharing room.
Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu (1350m) valley as per program, O/N in hotel
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubeshi (1465m) by Jeep, 8 hrs, O/N in lodge
Day 04: Trek starts and head to Lama Hotel (2500m), 5hrs
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village (3300m), 5hrs
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3800m), 3hrs
Day 07: Hike of the Tserku-Ri (4980m), 6.5 hrs
Day 08: Trek Back to Lama Hotel, 6 hrs
Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2250m), 6 hrs
Day 10: Trek to Chandanbari (3250m), 4.5 hrs
Day 11: Trek to Goshainkunda (4330m), 5hrs
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte (3430m) via Laurivinayak La (4900m), 7 hrs
Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang (2470m), 6 hrs
Day 14: Trek to Chisapani (2215m), 6 hrs
Day 15: Trek to Sundarijal, transfer to hotel in Kathmandu, 4 hrs
